Lincroft, NJ (January 15, 2012) – Calling all aspiring chefs:  Lincroft Presbyterian Church ( is searching for the area’s best chili at the Church’s Annual Superbowl Saturday Chili Contest on Saturday, February 4,  2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  The third annual chili contest and buffet dinner – $10.00 per adult, $5.00 per child, $30.00 per family – includes chili entries, side dishes and dessert, a gift auction and prizes for chili contestants.  Chili entries are $10.00 each.

“This evening is a great way to bring together family and friends for a fun night out, as well as help us raise funds for church repairs and the youth group’s summer 2012 mission trip to help the needy,”  says Lincroft resident and church member Kathy Noah.

Area judges will award $100.00 first prize, and a blue ribbon second prize.  Guests will cast their ballot for the “People’s Choice” award to the best of the best chili.  Contestants must register with the church by January 31, 2012, and bring their chili in a covered dish or crockpot that can be kept warm for the buffet by 5:30 p.m.  Entrants should submit their chili with a recipe.

In addition to chili, the buffet dinner will feature salad, cornbread, dessert and refreshments, door prizes, a gift auction and kids’ activities.   Additional quarts of chili will be available for takeout for $5.00.
