Dear Editor,

Monmouth County is bidding farewell to one of our most distinguished public servants with Freeholder Amy Mallett leaving the Board of Chosen Freeholders. While I’m an ideological Libertarian who actively supports the Republican Party, I still have many good things to stay about Amy.

Amy stood with Republican Freeholder Curley against the blatant corruption taking place at Brookdale. She fought for fiscal conservatism, transparency and accountability.

Amy was also the lone voice on the board in supporting Medical Cannabis. She put the needs of seriously-ill patients above the pressure of uninformed people who have been conned into believing misinformation propagated by big pharma and and the prison industry.

I understand that Amy is interested in serving on the Brookdale Board of Trustees. The people of Monmouth County need her on the Board to serve as a watchdog for the taxpayers and to clean out the rest of the “Burnham Board” and “Burnham Buddies” still working at the college. There is one very high level employee of the college who is still making a six-figure salary despite the fact that individual allegedly had a long-term intimate relationship with Burnham and received thousands of dollars in cash bonuses during Burnham’s tenture. We need Amy to clean things out.

Go get em, Amy!
