ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ —  The First Presbyterian Church will host its annual Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. Saturday, featuring a bagpipe and drum performance of “The Little Drummer Boy” by Jim McHarg and his daughter Erin, and the singing of “Oh Holy Night” by the adult choir with Patty Hinze soloing.

   The church will also conduct a Christmas Day worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

   The final Advent candle will be lighted during the candlelight service.

   The messages at both services will be presenting by Pastor Michael Riley. The Christmas Eve service sermon is entitled “The Night When Everything Changed” while the Sunday message is call “Christmas and What’s Next.”

   Riley, pastor since April, is a former Baptist minister studying for ordination in the Presbyterian Church USA. He is a columnist, staff writer and editorial writer at the Asbury Park Press. His column, “Only Human,” appears on Fridays.

   The 121-year-old, handicapped accessible church at Third and E. Highland Aves., offers extra parking in a new municipal lot next to the Christian Education Building on East Highland Avenue.

   Child care for four-year-olds and younger continues to be provided during the regular worship service. 10 a.m. worship service.

   Members and friends are urged to donate to the community Food Pantry by bringing non-perishable items to the church, which will then be delivered to the pantry at the United Methodist Church.
