To the Editor:

Six years ago I coordinated the first International Holiday Chance Auction to raise scholarship money to support these programs at Brookdale Community College’s International Center. This first year of my retirement, I am continuing the holiday tradition on Thursday, December 8.  We invite the community to again meet several past scholarship students, enjoy refreshments and try their luck to win gifts. All the items are donated and include travelers’ souvenirs, gift baskets, gift certificates and a variety of other treasures.

The event is an enjoyable opportunity to “shop” for holiday gifts and, at the same time, support student scholarships.  The fun begins at 11:30 and continues until the last gift drawing is announced by 1:30. All the ticket sale money goes directly for scholarships and are only $10 for community and $5 for students and seniors. The International Center (732-224-2799) can answer any questions and provide directions to the Warner Student Life Center where the event will take place.

Blessings for the holidays,

Susan Rosenberg
