LONG BRANCH, NJ  –  The Junior Board of the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Long Branch, NJ will hold Ronald McDonald House Day in Fair Haven, NJ on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Local businesses will donate a portion of their sales from the day and/or give monetary donations. 100% of the donations collected will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch. Participating local businesses include: Veranda; Nature’s Emporium;-Skye Blue & BeTween; Gear Loft; Shutters; All Things Consignment Flair Cleaners;

Pauline’s Papery; Barnacle Bill’s; Umbertos; Distinctive Toys; Anders Technology Supervisors; Gem of an Idea; Stewart’s Plumbing and Heating; Edward Jones Investments; Gloria Nilson Realtors; Coastal Décor; Ferguson Dental Care; Boxwood Gardens; Tranquility Nauvoo; Fairwinds Deli; River Road Books; Frame it Yourself and Doc Shoppe among others.

Junior Board Co-Chairs Ben Sherman, Emily Hayes and past Co-Chairs Sarah Delaney and Elise Keale approached Fair Haven’s Mayor, Mike Halfacre with the idea. “We scheduled a meeting with the Mayor and he was very receptive and supportive of what we want to do. We then presented the idea to the Business Association of Fair Haven comprised of local business owners and over 25 signed up…we are thrilled! stated Keale.” 

“It’s great to see young people get involved in their community, and all of Fair Haven should be proud of the effort they are making to not only raise money for Ronald McDonald House, but to attract customers for our local businesses.” said Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre. “The Borough Council is supportive of the event, and we all look forward to shopping locally for a cause on the 10th.”

The Ronald McDonald House provides a true “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children who receive care at medical facilities near our locations in Long Branch and New Brunswick, NJ. RMH also offers Family Rooms and a Hospitality Suite in the pediatric units of three hospitals in Monmouth County. In this way, families can stay together in comfortable surroundings, helping them to remain strong throughout the course of their child’s treatment.
