ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The challenge for jewelry artists worldwide: create a unique ring every day for a year.

Mary Lu Wason will present a free program at the Atlantic Highlands Library, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, to talk about her participation in the Ring A Day project.

Wason, a studio jeweler from Atlantic Highlands, took up the year-long online challenge together with fellow artists from around the world.  The creative results of their collective efforts have been recently published in the book, Ring A Day by Marthe LeVan, in which thirty of Mary Lu’s rings were featured.

At the library program, Wason will also discuss jewelry as an art form, and the experience of being part of an online worldwide community.  Copies of the Ring A Day book will be available for sale.

Wason was trained at Studio Jewelers, Ltd., in New York City.  Many of her rings will be on exhibit at the Library from December 1 through December 12.  Also, some of her work may be seen at the Grounds for Sculpture Museum store and on her website,
