Middletown, NJ  – The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) presents the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast’s A Breath of Plein Air, a juried art show featuring more than one hundred plein air paintings by members who paint outdoors and capture the beauty of Coastal and Central Jersey. The exhibition will be on display from October 29th through November 29th, with a wine and cheese reception for the public on Saturday, November 19th from 7-9 p.m. 

Admission is free. The MAC Gallery is open to the public Monday and Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.,  Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday by appointment. For the first time, this annual member show will be juried. The juror is Jane McGraw-Teubner, an award winning plein air artist and signature member in the Pastel Society of America.  Awards will be made in both signature and artist membership categories. The show will include both poster and live demonstrations of how plein air paintings are developed. It will also include educational materials to engage young artists. 

The main show will focus on small works and large works will be displayed in the North Hall. Come and purchase holiday gifts for friends and family, and 30% of your purchase price will go to the Middletown Arts Center to assist in arts-related projects for the community!
