Atlantic Highlands, NJ – Explore NJ’s most unique & diverse areas in Monmouth County by bike during the Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce Coastal Highlands Bike Tour, Sunday, October 9, 2011at 10am in the Atlantic Highlands Harbor.  Start out with breakfast in the Harbor and return to a picnic lunch at the Atlantic Highland’s pier. 

Entry is $25 without NYC ferry, $35 with NYC ferry.  Ferry leaves from Pier 11 Wall Street at 8:30am and returns to NYC by 5:00pm.

All riders of all experience and ages are welcome.  Choose either a 25 mile tour or a 61 mile tour.  “Long Tour” is a 61 mile route. It includes the same start and finish sections as the short tour, but also includes a longer, more inland route towards Colts Neck and Holmdel, passing scenic farmland, estates and parks. Comfort stations are identified on the on-line route guide.

 “Local Tour” is a 25 mile route with a lot of varied terrain. This includes a heavily wooded trail at the base of the Mt Mitchell cliff along the shoreline, a Sandy Hook beach front side trail section, and sections with sweeping river views, charming bridges, impressive bluffs with grand estates, and charming colonial-era villages of Locust, Navesink and the Hartshorne Woods.  

Route markings and a mechanic assistant will be provided.
