Dear Editor,

The 10th Anniversary of 9/11 is a day of mixed feelings for myself and many other Americans. On one hand it is a time to remember many of our fellow Americans who died during the tragic events of that day and those who have later faced serious health problems as a result of their exposure to toxic materials at Ground Zero.

But on another hand it is that the anniversary of the events that led to the deceptively named US Patriot Act being passed – a dangerous piece of legislation which has stripped Americans of basic constitutional rights and has given the Federal Government carte blanche to illegally spy upon, break and enter and imprison with total lack of judicial oversight.

We invaded Afghanistan on October 7, 2001. We invaded Iraq on March 20, 2003. Since then we’ve spent a total of close to $4 Trillion on these excursions with 225,000 human casualties. There’s no end in sight and our constitutional rights seem to have taken an indefinite hiatus for the length of this eternal war.

A lot of politicans will lie to you and tell you that the soliders on the ground in Afghanistan and Iraq wish to continue these wars. But money talks. In the 2008 Presidental Elections, Ron Paul who is opposed to the illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the unconstitutional US Patriot Act received the most donations out of any candidate from Active Duty US Military.

Support the troops, Elect Ron Paul in 2012.
