RED BANK, NJ – A large water main upgrade project has begun in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue / Rector Place. This project will require the closing of Shrewsbury Avenue / Rector Place from Monmouth Street to N. Bridge Avenue, Monday – Thursday from 7 am until 6 pm. The closings will be done in sections, but when the roadway is closed a detour route will be set up as the road will be completely inaccessible.

Motorists are urged to plan alternate routes as traffic congestion is expected to be rather severe during the closings. This project is schedule to last approximately 6-8 weeks. Some work will also require 24 hour road closings along Shrewsbury Avenue near the railroad crossing to facilitate installation of equipment.
