ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – This is a public health and safety message from the Borough of Atlantic Highlands

This morning, a fire hydrant in the Borough became dislodged in its seat and caused an excessive amount of water to be discharge in a short period of time. Due to the excessive water flow, the water lines have become disrupted causing dirty water throughout. The Atlantic Highlands Water and Sewer Department are out in force flushing the system and steady progress is being made to clear the lines. We ask that you run your cold water tap to help with this problem. Please contact the water department if you have any major issues.  We thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation in this matter.
