MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Middletown Township Health Department and Animal Control will be holding a free Cat rabies clinic on September 17, 2011. The clinic will be held from 9am until 11am at the Kings Hwy/Penelope Lane overflow parking lot. All cats must be in an appropriate carrier. Only put 1 cat in each carrier, as multiple cats in a confined space creates an unsafe situation for the animals and personnel.  Do not carry the cats loose in your arms, as many animals have run away or become agitated with all the activity happening around them. Cat licenses will be available for purchase at this time. All cats in Middletown must be licensed. The licenses run from September through August. The fee is $20.00, except if proof is provided that the animal was spayed/neutered, the fee will only be $15.00.  Any license renewed after September 30, 2011 will incur a monthly progressive late fee. The application for new cats can be found on the Township web site, www.middletownnj.org  and look under forms and resources for the Health Dept. Cat renewal applications will be sent out in the mail in mid-August. Please contact Animal Control at 732-615-2094 if you have any questions.
