MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Middletown Township Veterans Affairs Committee conducted a certificate signing ceremony to show support for our National Guard and Reserve at their August meeting.  The certificates, which show employer support for these troops were signed by Mayor Anthony Fiore, Deputy Mayor Pamela M. Brightbill, Committeeman Gerry Scharfenberger, and Middletown Police Department Lieutenant Robert Stefanski.

Veterans Affairs Vice-Chairman James Guerrieri, Chairman James D’Elia, Police Lt Robert Stefanski, Deputy Mayor Pamela Brightbill, Mayor Anthony Fiore, Committeeman Gerry Scharfenberger, and Veterans Affairs Committee members William Bouw, Tom Garretson and Eric McCoy.

The five-member Veterans Affairs Committee was established earlier this year. The Veterans Affairs Committee is charged with the responsibility of reporting the concerns of Middletown veterans to the Township Committee, providing information on local, state and veterans’ programs, and making recommendations on how best to meet the needs of Middletown’s veterans. The members of the committee are: James D’Elia, Chairman, James Guerrieri, Vice Chairman, William Bouw, Tom Garretson, and Eric McCoy.

All Middletown veterans are encouraged to contact the Committee and to register with them in order that they can be apprised of future Township efforts on their behalf.  The Veterans Affairs Committee is currently included on the Township’s website at www.middletownnj.org and is listed under “Boards and Commissions.”  Visitors will find links to programs beneficial to Middletown veterans.
