MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Residents and local officials will gather at Roosevelt Park on Wednesday, July 6 at 3:30 p.m. to announce the launch of a Neighborhood Watch program in the Ideal Beach community of North Middletown. Scheduled to attend are Mayor Anthony Fiore, Police Department officials, and members of the Ideal Beach Community Association (IBCA) and the Neighborhood Watch.
Signs alerting the neighborhood of the new program are being erected in key locations throughout the beachside community, including Roosevelt Park. Initially funded by a state grant through the Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP), the community’s Neighborhood Watch Program already has more than 20 residents who meet monthly to solve various concerns. The group is assisted by a local a detective who answers questions and provide guidance.
