The bad winter further delayed the project, but the utility work was completed in the spring and contractors were back on site June 9.
“This is an important intersection upgrade that will keep traffic in that area flowing,” said Freeholder John P. Curley, who oversees the county’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “While we have no control over the utilities, we are working finish this project by the end of August.”

The intersection improvements consist of replacement of the existing signal with a new semi-actuated traffic signal and minor roadway widening at the intersection to accommodate left turning lanes at all approaches. Also included are drainage pipes and inlets, replacement of curbs, sidewalks and driveway aprons, signage and striping, top-soiling and seeding.
