HOLMDEL, NJ – The New Jersey Lions, a local Minor League Football franchise, has embarked on their fourth season of professional football.   The Lions play their home games at St. John Vianney High School on Line Road in Holmdel.

The Lions roster is full of former gridiron stars from Middletown HS North and Middletown HS South.  Paul Castillo, Jr. is a co-owner and head coach of the squad and has led the Lions to a 29-9 record in the past three years.   Standouts on his team are Jeffrey Castillo, also a co-owner (MHSN),  Ron Tefteller – (MHSS)  Makahi Burns (MHSN), Jeremy Reiley (MHSS) and Mike Meehan (MHSN).

The Lions will be playing their final pre-season scrimmage this Saturday, June 25th when they square off against the New York Predators at St. John Vianney HS.  Kickoff will take place at 7 PM.   (see attached flyer for details).    The regular season will begin on July 16th in a home contest against the BK Mariners.  

With the NFL on hold, come out and witness an exciting brand of football featuring your heroes from the past.  A 10 game slate features opponents from Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia.
