Manasquan, NJ – Kidz Filmz is a new film festival that is a joint venture between Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan, NJ and the Garden State Film Festival. This program’s mission is to provide educational enhancement as well as an outlet for creativity and enrichment through the presentation of films that are the very finest in entertainment for children as well as by children.  The films will be presented at Algonquin Arts Theatre in a festival-type event on January 27-29th 2012. Activities will also include a hands-on children’s workshop.

The call for entries is open now until October 15, 2011. Categories include: Animation (short and feature length), Documentaries (short and feature length), Narratives (short and feature length), and music videos.

When audiences attend the festival, they can expect films from local filmmakers and those from around the globe. This event serves to use the cinematic arts as a means of sharing information, broadening horizons, spotlighting creativity, and bringing cultural understanding in a festive environment.
