I’m Jim D’Elia, Commander of VFW Post 2179 in Middletown, NJ.  Each year on Memorial Day we lay wreaths and conduct memorial services at 5 Monuments located throughout the town. Each monument represents a specific conflict (WW I, WWII, Korea, Vietnam plus our Post Monument).  These services always take place on Memorial Day- this year Monday, May 30, 2011.  This year we will be adding a sixth monument.

On May 26, 2011 the WW II Battle of the Bulge Monument presently located at Ft. Monmouth will be relocated and rededicated at the Thorne Middle School in Middletown, NJ.

I am listing below the locations and the approximate times we will be at each monument.  The public is welcome to join us.

World War I Monument, Belford @ 9 AM

Korean Monument, Port Monmouth @ 9:30 AM
