RED BANK , NJ – Author Michael E. Goldberg will present “Prevention and Healing, a Holistic Approach” at the Red Bank Public Library on Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Michael, a trained and certified Reiki Master, has written three books on mind-body-spirit healing for both physical and mental health: The Road to Healing, Good Health, and Wellness; The Road to Happiness; and The End of Mood Disorders. He will discuss a variety of wellness techniques such as meditation, visualization, positive affirmation, spiritual prayer, and diet and nutrition. This program is free and registration is not required.

In June the Red Bank Public Library continues its regular schedule of programming, beginning on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, with Money and Your Family, a free monthly forum on timely financial topics presented the first Wednesday of the month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. by Red Bank resident Robin Goldberg, a former business executive with extensive financial experience.   Participants are invited to bring questions for discussion. Artists seeking inspiration, motivation, and time to devote to their work are invited to attend the Artists’ Workshop on the first Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Red Bank Public Library. The next meeting of the Artists’ Workshop at the Red Bank Public Library will take place on June 2, 2011.   Red Bank artist Joe Bergholm is the Workshop’s Artist-in-Residence and works with the artists as a group and individually, offering suggestions for subjects as well as guidance with principles of art such as color, composition, and the selection and use of materials. The Artists’ Workshops are free and no registration is required. Participants should bring their own drawing and painting materials, although oils are not permitted because of ventilation concerns. The program is supported by a generous contribution from the Friends of the Red Bank Public Library.

The Red Bank Senior Center in cooperation with the Red Bank Public Library hosts a book discussion group on the last Monday of each month at the Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. Red Bank Borough residents age 60 and over are welcome to join the Center and participate in this or any of its other great programs.
