ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Rev. Michael Riley will tackle the chaos in our lives and the world during his Sunday message at the First Presbyterian Church Sunday.
His sermon at the 10 a.m. worship service will be entitled “Bless This Mess!”
The new pastor will continue his popular “mystery bag” children’s sermon series when youngsters try to “stump the pastor” by placing a small personal “treasure” in a brown paper bag. He then picks one bag and creates a children’s message from its contents.
Riley became pastor April 1 after a one-and-half-year search by the five-member Pastor Search Committee during which applications from over 75 persons were reviewed and numerous candidates were considered.
The new pastor had been a regular preacher here for about two years, has been an ordained Baptist minister for over 25 years and is now preparing to become an ordained Presbyterian minister.
