ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – Two men on a sailboat at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor were unharmed when the mast of the boat came violently crashing down Saturday afternoon.

The boat was in the boatyard having it’s mast removed by Leon’s Crane Service when the mast slipped.  The harbor’s travel lift was parked near the boat and the mast landed on it.

There was no damage to the travel lift, according to Bill Bate, Atlantic Highlands Harbormaster.

The brand new boat is on its way from Florida to Canada.
