Little Silver, NJ The Red Bank Regional (RBR) PTO will sponsor a Meet the Candidates’ Night on Wednesday, April 13, in the RBR Media Center at 7 pm. The event is intended for Little Silver residents who will be asked to vote on their regional representative to the RBR Board of Education. School Elections take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

Vying for the Little Silver position on the RBR Board of Education are Little Silver residents, Louis D’Alloto, Eugene Koster, Jr. and Seth Rosen. The League of Women Voters will moderate the evening. Candidates will be allowed a specific time for opening and closing statements. Questions will be taken on index card from members of the audience. Each candidate’s answer will be also be timed. Little Silver residents are encouraged to come and ask their questions of the candidates.

The Red Bank Regional School District has three seats up for election on April 27; one from each of its sending school districts of Little Silver, Shrewsbury and Red Bank. Only the Little Silver position is being contested. Incumbents Frank Neary of Shrewsbury and current Board President John Garofalo of Red Bank are running uncontested and will not appear at the candidates’ night.

RBR’s PTO raises money for the academic enrichment of the school, building beautification and staff appreciation. Each year the RBR PTO gives thousands of dollars in scholarship money to graduating seniors and sponsors programs and special events for the high school such as this Candidates Night.
