Brookdale Alumni Association Calls for Juried Art Show Entries 

Lincroft, NJ – Brookdale Community College’s Alumni Association has announced it will be accepting submissions for the 25th annual Juried Art Show on Monday, May 16. Entries will be received only from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. in the Center for Visual Arts (CVA) lobby at the Lincroft main campus. Parking is most convenient in lot 2.

The Juried Art Show is open to all artists 18 years and over. Entries are limited to two per artist. Work may be in one category or two.  The Judge may choose no more than one piece of work from each artist.

Works accepted for the mixed media show include: painting, printmaking, photography, graphic design, sculpting, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, computer graphics and mixed media. There is a $10 fee for single entries, or a $15 fee for two works. Prizes will include First through Third and five Honorable Mention awards. Monies raised through the art show entry fees will fund a scholarship for a Brookdale visual arts student.

The scholarship will be awarded to a visual arts student currently enrolled full-time at Brookdale. Application requirements include having completed a minimum of 24 credits at the college, a GPA of 2.75 or higher, two letters of recommendation and an essay. Scholarship application deadline is May 6. The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Friday, May 20 opening reception of the Juried Art Show. It will be held in the CVA Gallery from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The community is invited to the reception.  The show runs from May 20 through June 20. Gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Gallery is closed on weekends.
