Tinton Falls, NJ – The Monmouth Festival of the Arts is hosting its annual Student Art Competition and Art Workshops on Sunday, January 30, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Avenue, Tinton Falls, NJ. The student art competition features the work of 11th grade high school artists from over 50 high schools throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties. MRT has been commended for its support of the arts and art education and is the winner of the 2010 Governor’s Award in Art Education.

Participation in theses events is free. Winners receive first, second and third place prizes of $100, $75 and $50. In addition, Winners will have their work prominently displayed at the 41st annual Monmouth Festival of the Arts, which will take place at the Monmouth Reform Temple on April 9 through 13, 2011.  Art competition judges include professional artists Patricia Hutchinson, Colleen Lineberry, and Bob Mataranglo. Additionally, art workshops will be presented by local artists and will take place simultaneous to the art competition. Participation in the workshops is open to all students of art, and not limited to those presenting in the competition.

The Monmouth Festival of the Arts is hosted by Monmouth Reform Temple and is made possible, in part, by the Monmouth County Arts Council through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the County Historical Commission, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State a Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
