Little Silver, NJ –  The Red Bank Regional (RBR) Board of Education recently recognized the accomplishment of sophomore Craig Lovie of Little Silver as he earned his Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Boy Scouts.  He will to refine his Eagle Status with Troop 67 of Red Bank working toward the Eagle Palm Award which is segmented into bronze, gold and silver levels.

Craig’s Eagle Scout project commandeered the efforts of over one dozen fellow scouts to clean and organize a storage area and assemble a shelving system to better inventory donations for Ronald McDonald House in Long Branch.

RBR sophomore, Craig Lovie (center) of Little Silver was recently honored by the RBR Board of Education for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout from Troop 67 in Red Bank. Craig earned 36 merit badges and achieved Boy Scouts highest level at the young age of 15. In the description of his project Craig explains, “The (Ronald McDonald) House receives many donations (toys, food, baby supplies, etc.) throughout the year that they need to inventory and store so that they many be distributed as needed.”

Craig is a pre-engineering student at RBR who is also very interested in the environment. He is a member of the school’s environment club and tech crew and works the many shows the school’s Visual and Performing Arts Academy presents throughout the school year. Craig has also earned a great many merit badges during his Boy Scout career, numbering 36, an amazing accomplishment for any scout. He especially loves the camping aspect of scouting and the skills he has acquired including, live saving, survival and archery.

Highlights of his scouting adventures include his attendance at the 2010 High Adventure Sea Base in Florida, the 100th Year of Scouting Jamboree in Fort A.P. Hill Virginia, the 2009 National Youth leadership Training. He is also a charter member of the Scuba Venturing Crew.

Craig comments, “Boys Scouts has always been a huge part of my life since I really wanted to achieve and Boy Scouts gave me that opportunity.” He adds, “I couldn’t have done it, though, without my mom.
