Charitable football tourney to be largest ever

Middletown, NJ – Plans are underway for the 11th annual Turkey Bowl – Monmouth County’s largest touch football tournament – to be held on Saturday, Nov. 27 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Thorne Middle School.  Proceeds will once again benefit Red Bank-based charity Jason’s Dreams for Kids, an organization that grants wishes to terminally and chronically ill children.

Due to the continued growth and success of the event since 2000, the Turkey Bowl committee is pleased to announce the creation of a larger charitable organization titled Play2Win. Its mission is to continue the growth of the Turkey Bowl as well as develop additional athletic events throughout the year to benefit local children’s charities.

Play2Win president Adam Kazalski, of Little Silver, who founded the Turkey Bowl said, “Seeing how far this event has come from its early days as a neighborhood game on Thanksgiving weekend, we recognized that there is more we can do to help a number of area charities in a way that is different from traditional fundraising.”

The Turkey Bowl has raised over $200,000 since its inception fulfilling wishes for children and rekindling the glory days for its participants.
