RED BANK, NJ – “Money and Your Family” is the focus of a free monthly community financial forum at the Red Bank Public Library presented by Robin Goldberg, a retired business executive, Red Bank resident, and member of the Friends of the Library. On Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Robin’s topic will be “Review Your Retirement Plans: Social Security, Portfolios, and Other Sources.”
An investment professional with thirty years of experience, Robin managed portfolios of bonds, energy investments, and institutional limited partnerships invested in venture capital for a large insurance company. Robin has an MBA from George Washington University with a concentration in finance and a BA from Georgetown University. “I grew up learning from my parents that giving back to the community was important, and I look forward to this volunteer opportunity to share my background in financial matters with others,” says Goldberg. Free English as a Second Language classes for adults 18 and over are offered regularly at the Red Bank Public Library in partnership with the Literacy Volunteers of Monmouth County. The next ten-week class will begin on January 6, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., with registration on January 6 and 13. Artists seeking inspiration, motivation, and a special time to devote to their work are invited to attend an informal gathering once a month at the Red Bank Public Library. The “Artists’ Workshop” takes place the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the library Meeting Room. The workshops are free and no registration is required. Participants should bring their own drawing and painting materials, although oils are not permitted because of ventilation concerns.

The Red Bank Senior Center in cooperation with the Red Bank Public Library hosts a book discussion group on the last Monday of each month at the Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. Red Bank Borough residents age 60 and over are welcome to join the Center and participate in this or any of its other great programs.
