RED BANK, NJ – Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) is providing seasonal flu shots every Saturday beginning September 25 through October 30 at its Red Bank, NJ headquarters location, 176 Riverside Avenue in Red Bank.  The Saturday flu clinics are held from 9 am to 12 noon and are open to all individuals 12 years of age and older.

Flu shot price special through September – the charge for flu shots throughout September is $25.00 and pneumonia vaccines are $45.00.  Seniors may present their Medicare Part B card as primary insurance. Medicaid card also accepted.  Medicare/Medicaid HMO’s are not accepted. Individuals covered by Medicare HMOs should contact their HMOs for information on flu shot providers.  Beginning October 1, the cost for flu shots will be $30 and pneumonia vaccine $50.

Children under 12 are eligible for flu shots by appointment. Pediatric flu shots are provided on Thursdays beginning September 30 in the VNACJ Red Bank location.  Call 732-933-3989 to schedule an appointment or for more information.

On Saturday, October 30, a special ‘Boo to the Flu’ event will be held for all children under 12.  Children are invited to come in costume and get their flu shots.  Food and prizes will be provided.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that EVERY ONE over six months of age get a seasonal flu shot. In New Jersey, children six months and older, enrolled in daycare and school are required by law to receive the flu shot.

Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, now in its 98th year of service, is a nonprofit provider of in-home health care and hospice services.  The organization also offers extensive community-based health and wellness services throughout New Jersey.
