ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Highlands Community Singers will perform its season finale at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5 at the Atlantic Highlands Harbor Gazebo.

The Louise Donoghue-directed Community Singers are a group of area residents, primarily from Highlands and Atlantic Highlands, who offer a blend of old-time sing-along favorites, more current popular songs and patriotic numbers. It often sings at area senior citizen venues.

Among the group’s traditional offerings is its signature song, “Happy as a Clam,” written by the group’s late founder and long-time director, Art Frielinghaus.

Highlighting the repertoire will be solos by Tomi Jain and Rick Makin and a duet by Stacy Smith-Velez and Gardiner Marek.

The group’s accompanist is Erik Vagen. Former Mayor Peter Donoghue is the emcee.

The performance is sponsored by the Atlantic Highlands Recreation Committee as part of its summer-long Sunday evening concert series.
