West Long Branch, NJ – Monmouth University is pleased to announce that the Simon String Quartet will present three free classical concerts as part of its Summer String-In Workshops.
On Wednesday, August 4, the Simon String Quartet with friends will perform at Monmouth University’s Wilson Hall Auditorium with cellist Joseph Kimura and violist Kimberly Foster-Wallace in a program featuring Schoenberg’s hyper-romantic sextet, “Transfigured Night” (Verklaerte Nacht), and Dvorak’s rousing Quintet, Opus 97. The concert begins at 7:30 pm and is free to the public.
On Thursday, August 5, the Simon String Quartet will perform their second concert at Monmouth University’s Wilson Hall Auditorium performing quartets by the great English composer Benjamin Britten and Schubert’s monumental Quartet in G Major. The concert is at 7:30 pm and free to the public.
On Friday, August 6, the members of the Simon String Quartet will be joined by harpsichordist Rebecca Pechefsky, cellist Joseph Kimura, cello and violist Kimberly Foster-Wallace in a program of Baroque favorites by Telemann, Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. This concert is at 5 pm at Monmouth University’s Wilson Hall Auditorium and is also free to the public.
