RED BANK, NJ – The Red Bank Public Library Children Room weekly storytime/activity schedule is as follows:



5-5:30 – Yoga Kids! Children ages 6 and up are invited to learn basic yoga poses as well as proper breathing and relaxation techniques. It’s simple and fun and FREE of charge! Since we do yoga outside, sometimes on the harder ground, yoga mats are recommended, however towels work as well.

6:00 – 8:00 – Monday Movie Night Madness – Stop by the library for an animated Disney movie, move theater popcorn, and a good time. If movies aren’t your thing, feel free to play one of our board games in the Children’s Room or hang out on the computers.



10:30 – 11:30 – Little Bookworms with Miss Helen: 30 minutes of fun stories, lively activities, and songs and fingerplays with a coloring sheet to follow. Children ages 1-5 are welcome to attend with a caregiver. No registration is needed.



10:30 – 11:30 – Songs and Stories with Miss Sam: Children ages 2-5 are invited to hear stories, sings songs, and do a quick craft or coloring page after. No registration is needed.

Do you like reading? Do you like talking about what you read? Do you like talking about what you eat while eating delicious snacks? Well than this is the place for you!

This month we will be reading Sharon Creech’s Chasing Redbird, about a girl named Zinny Taylor and how uncovering a lost trail leading from the backyard of her farm leads her to find herself, her family, and a lot of other amazing discoveries. Children, ages 9 and up, can pick up the book at the library anytime after August 1st and must have the book read prior to meeting on Thursday, August 19th at 3:00 p.m.

Red Bank Public Library’s Children Room presents Snakes -n- Scales and Turtle Tales: Reptile River Rules on August 7th at 12:00.


65 million years has passed since reptiles rulled the land, however their dominance has not entirely ended. Stop by the library to see Mata Mata, a turtle that looks like a rotting log, learn about gigantic Anacondas, water boas, marvel at the only scaleless reptile, and meet a 6 1/2 foot American Alligator…all here at the Red Bank Public Library.
