ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Rev. Michael Riley — minister, columnist and author — will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service at the First Presbyterian Church.

His sermon is entitled “A Wonder to Many,” a message about the joys and challenges of growing older.

Riley will continue his popular “mystery bag” children’s sermon series in which youngsters try to “stump the pastor” by putting a personal “treasure” in a small paper bag. The minister then picks one and creates a message from the contents.

He will return as guest preacher on July 18 and will also speak on July 25. Rev. Barbara Macfie will preach and administer Communion on Aug. 1.

Riley is an ordained Baptist minister and a reporter for the Asbury Park Press. His column, “Only Human,” appears on Friday in The Press.
