Middletown, NJ – The Community YMCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Christian as the organization’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Lisa Christian, President and Chief Executive Officer

Christian comes to The Community YMCA from her position as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, an 18 branch organization with an annual budget of $35 million. She led the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan, with a focus on operational management, community partnerships, fundraising and staff and volunteer development.

“As the new President and Chief Executive Officer of The Community Y, I am excited to be leading a Y with such a deep and meaningful history of community service, and look forward to the challenge of formulating a vision and plan to ensure that our YMCA remains an important resource to the communities that we serve,” said Christian.

“We are very pleased to have completed the selection process and identified a leader of Lisa’s caliber.  Lisa’s 30 years of experience in various senior level positions at YMCA’s on both the east and west coasts, will be a great asset to the leadership and staff of The Community YMCA,” said Timothy J. Hogan, Chairman of the Board and Chief Volunteer Officer.

Prior to her experience in Pittsburgh, Lisa served as Vice President of Operations at the YMCA of San Francisco; Executive Director of the Peninsula Family YMCA in San Mateo, California; and Operations Director of the Westfield, New Jersey YMCA.

Christian began her appointment at The Community YMCA this June.  She lives with her husband and daughter in Atlantic Highlands.
