HIGHLANDS, NJ – In cooperation with the Monmouth Cancer Coalition and the Center for Disease Control, the Highlands Recreation Dept. will be participating in the SCREEN (Skin Cancer Reduction – Early Education Network) Program. In order to participate, parents need to sign a consent form to have their child (or children between the ages of 8 and 11) participate in a pre-test and post test consisting of a 20 true / false survey on sun safety knowledge. In addition, during Kidfest 2010, the Highlands Recreation Dept. will be posting the daily UV index and implementing a Sun Safety Program throughout the season. Contact the Community Center at (732) 872-1959 if you would like further information on this program.
