ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – Children of all ages are invited to set sail for fun and adventure on June 17 at 3 PM at the Atlantic Highlands Library, 48 Avenue C, where Make a Splash – Read! is the theme for the Summer Reading Program. The first of many programs kicks off with performers from Picarillo Sciencetelling, who will be on hand with ‘Pirates – the Curse of the Mutating Hand.’ Activities and stories about oceans, rivers, lakes, pools – and the creatures that live there – will be featured all summer long. Kids, preschool through young adult are invited to plunge into the world of water – and water fun – through programs, a reading club, prizes, drawings, story hours, and more.
Also, log sheets for the reading program will be handed out at the kickoff. Throughout the summer, as children reach designated plateaus of minutes they have read, prizes will be awarded. At the end of the summer those who have read 1500 minutes will be eligible to attend a pizza party with a special mystery guest. In addition, there will be a grand prize winner.
Enjoy special performers, crafts, stories, contests every Thursday:
