Dear Editor,

I recently attended my niece’s recital at the Middletown Arts Center. I was very impressed with the performance, choreography, and the dance instructor, Deena Burnette. I believe that Burnette’s role as a dance instructor goes far beyond the job’s requirements. Not only did she teach these young girls the art of dance, but it was clear that she put a lot of love and instilled a lot of confidence into those students. I have been to recitals before and have seen coaches and other mentors interact with children, but what I saw at Middletown Arts center was remarkable. I am glad that many young girls have Burnette as a role model. I believe that she truly has the capacity to influence them in a positive way. I saw a lot of love in that room.
