RED BANK, NJ – Red Bank Public Library’s Acoustic Saturdays series wraps up the spring season on May 22, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with two acts, Fiona Crawford and Taylor Hope, amazing young women musicians on equally amazing stringed instruments, ukulele and violin. With her extensive knowledge of the Great American Songbook, vocalist Fiona Crawford brings together seldom-heard standards and eclectic pop covers, sung sweetly over the strums of a tiny guitar. Taylor Hope, 15, a classically trained musician, has been playing violin for 11 years, but whether playing solo, with a symphony orchestra, or in a country, pop, or rock band, she always delivers an enthusiastic and captivating performance.
“Not-to- be-missed is said of many concerts, but these performers are really special, unique. Give yourself a treat and join us,” says guitarist Anton Daub, host of the library series and emcee of the weekly acoustic open microphone on Wednesday nights at Espresso Joe’s coffeehouse in Keyport and a frequent performer at many of the area’s acoustic music venues. These free performances are supported in part by funds from the New Jersey State Library. Acoustic Saturdays at the Red Bank Public Library will resume following a summer break on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
