ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – Columnist, author and minister Michael Riley will be the guest speaker at this Sunday’s 10 a.m. worship service at the First Presbyterian Church.

His sermon is entitled “Lessons from the Lepers,” an examination of an Old Testament text about what to do when you’re stuck in life.

Rev. Riley will continue his “mystery bag” children’s sermon series in which each of the church’s young people put an item in a small paper bag and Rev. Riley picks one and creates a message for the children from the contents.

The adult choir, under the direction of David Nunez, will sing “I’ll Flt Away” as an introit and “Honor and Praise” as its offertory anthem.

Rev. Riley will also be the guest preacher May 9, 16, 23 and 30. The Rev. Barbara Macfie will preach and administer Holy Communion and May 2 and June 6.

Rev. Riley has been an ordained minister for over 20 years. His column, “Only Human,” appears Friday in Asbury Park Press.

All area residents welcome to worship with the congregation of the 120-year-old handicapped accessible church at the corner of Third and E. Highland Aves. All children are invited to attend the Sunday School and child care is provided during worship all services.
