FAIR HAVEN ― Church Women United (“CWU”) of the Greater Red Bank Area will hold its annual May Friendship Day.  The celebration’s theme is: “Living the Vision”. It will be held ON May 7th at 6pm at the Red Bank United Methodist Church. The celebration will be open to the public and conclude with a pot luck supper immediately following the celebration.

CWU celebration of May Friendship Day is the one Celebration where we focus on Church Women United itself.  We look at where our movement has been and where it can go.  Each unit is different and has different strenghts and weaknesses.  What is similar is a faith in God and a desire to meet, celebrate, and act together across denominational lines to bring reconciling love to the world.  Our celebration is based on how Nehemiah rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem.  In studying the way that this project became a reality, Local Units can compare how they are using the concept of prayer, people, and planning in developing their unit.  As always on this day we take a collection for the Felllowship of the Least Coin.

Following the celebration there will be a pot luck supper, all are welcome to attend and if possible bring a dish to share.

This is the forth building block of our 2008 – 2012 Quadrennial Priority “Building a World Fit for All God’s Children” it advocates that we make changes in our own lives.  On a Larger scale, Church Women United as a movement needs to influence the welbeing of our children through planning and action.  Environmental issues are an ongoing concern for CWU, and continue to be a part of our Quadrennial Priority.

Church Women United is a racially, culturally, theologically inclusive ecumenical Christian women’s movement, including Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian Women, whocelebrate unity in diversity and working for a world of peace and justice.
