ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — Michael Riley, minister, columnist and author, will be the guest speaker at this Sunday’s 10 a.m. worship service at the First Presbyterian Church

His sermon is entitled “Holy Ground, Higher Ground” and will explore Moses’ first encounter with God at the burning bush.

Rev. Riley will continue his “mystery bag” children’s sermon series, which he has called “stump the pastor” in his weekly Asbury Park Press column. Each of the church’s young people have been putting an item in a small paper bag and Rev. Riley picks one and creates a message for the children from the contents.

The adult choir, under the direction of David Nunez, will sing “We Walk by Faith” as an introit and “Kyrie” as its offertory anthem.

Rev. Riley will also be the guest preacher April 25 and May 9, 16, 23 and 30.

He has been an ordained minister for over 20 years. His column, “Only Human,” appears Friday in The Press.

All are welcome to worship with the congregation of the 120-year-old handicapped accessible church at the corner of Third and E. Highland Aves. All children are invited to join the Sunday School program and child care is provided during worship all services.
