BITS & PIECES

There are a number of new things happening in our area that need to be mentioned. These are the things that keep upgrading Red Bank and raising the bar for competition in business and escalating the life style of all of us.

First I want to congratulate Chris from Buono Sera for the outstanding addition to his restaurant. Unable to use the space that is occupied by Fins and Feathers Pet Shop Chris built and entire facility over it. It was an ambitious project that required great planning, lots of labor and tons of money but the end result paid off. I went over last Friday night to see the finished project and was blown away by the quality of the interior. It is just beautiful with custom marble, woods gold ceilings and appointments that dazzle the eye. You should certainly stop by for a drink to see what he created. Boy…is that was hard for me to say…but Chris deserves it. Few people have worked as hard has he has over the past four years.

The Two River Theater is making great progress in its construction and should be finished in May of 2005. The combination of the theater's effect on the area along with the great strides in performances the Count Basie has been putting on it should define the Cultural development of Red Bank. If we include our art galleries and Arts and Antique District and the stage will be set for Red Bank to be a major cultural center for years to come. The theater will have Broadway shows performed for 32 weeks a year. The weeks remaining will be filled with benefit performances from a variety of entertainment venues.

There will be a tribute to Count Basie on his birthday with an unavailing of a statue of him on June 26th at the Red Bank Railroad Station. A cocktail reception will follow at Danny's Steakhouse following the ceremonies.

Speaking of which, I have learned that change is hard but necessary for growth. We are changing again at Danny's with the addition of a fine quality Sushi Bar. The opening on or about May 17th will introduce a complete new menu featuring a grazing appetizer & salad menu along with dinners of Sushi, steaks, seafood, pasta, a great new wine list and…..did I miss any food groups? See you soon.
