In response to Mr. John C. Hendrickson regarding property taxes: Dear Mr. Hendrickson, While I'm sure I'm not alone in sharing your frustrations over the current New Jersey Tax mess, I would like to offer you some hope of a citizens' based solution. As president of The Silver Brigade - www.silverbrigade.com - I'd like to invite you to join us on September 14th, 7-9pm, at the Randolph High School Auditorium (this is a change from the original location at CCM) for our second Statewide Citizens' Tax Summit. At this forum we will be discussing the underlying issues standing in the way of real tax reform in the State followed by a presentation of our Silver Brigade 10-point Legislative Proposal Platform which has gained bi-partisan support and does not require a constitutional convention in order to be implemented. Our full proposal is available for review and/or download from the website. I think you'll agree that if implemented these ten points would yield immediate reform and set the stage for a host of other related initiatives that can put the State back on its fiscal feet. I should also share that we kicked off our Tea Party campaign, to take our platform across the State, on Monday night to a crowd of 60+ local taxpayers. It was a very successful effort and discussions are currently underway for six more groups ranging from Bergen, Passaic, Burlington, Gloucester, Warren, Bergen and Morris Counties. I do hope you'll take advantage of this offer and community event to listen to our ideas and share yours as well. Regards, Jerry Cantrell, President |
