HARBOR FISH CLEANING REGULATIONS IS STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

In Regards to Joe Schenk's letter to the editor,

The commercial fishing fleet cleans their fish at sea and none of the remains are dumped into the harbor. I too, do not care for numerous carcasses floating about the harbor, but i feel this is an excellent step in the right direction. If the fish are cleaned according to the signs and are disposed back into the harbor they will sink. This adds dramatically to the food source for other creatures that live in the harbor. Does Joe propose that this should be a non fishing boat harbor? Im perplexed by his propsal, since cleaning your catch at sea (non commercial vessels) is illegal. I am more than a regular visitor, I rent a slip and live in town and I urge the mayor and Bourough Council to disregard Joe Schenk's letter.

Sincerely,

Colman Crowther
