ENERGY CRISIS DESERVES NEW JERSEY MADE SOLUTIONS

Dear Editor,

Everyone is now aware that energy prices have skyrocketed. I am not pleased one bit with either major party's response. It is time for common people to come up with potential solutions to the energy crisis.

I will focus on wind energy and the wind energy conversion systems aka wind turbines and their positive effects. NJ has some areas that are great for wind power such as the shore and on some of our mountains. There will be complaints from some nimby {not in my back yard} people and animal rights nuts. The way to handle this is to basically ignore their phoney complaints. Wind turbines look beautiful, they do not create much noise nor do they kill many birds. What they do is take natural wind and convert it to a very clean form of electricity. We could generate 15 to 20 percent of NJ electrical power from wind energy. If you want to see some wind turbines there are some in Atlantic City.

Wind energy would also create jobs. NJ has many abandoned factories and warehouses. We can use places such as abandoned Ford and GM factories and convert them into wind turbine manufacturing facilities. There would also be a need for electrians & mechanics to install and maintain the turbines.

Between the power generation and job creation wind power is one of the win-win solutions to our energy crisis.
