A Letter To the Editor: We can’t be the only ones who believe that the McConnell Tract should be kept as beachfront for the people. Everyone knows that access to the beach in highly developed areas proves restrictive to the general population whose taxes support it. Recently, developers in Andover, NJ were stopped when questions arose about their estimates of traffic impacts and school enrollment numbers. We should be cautious of opinion that may not be reality. We’d like to propose a campaign in our town to generate funds to assist in the purchase of the parcel. We’d like to know if any our neighbors share our sentiment, and if so, we can set about organizing a town campaign to exercise our civil rights and stop this unwanted imposition.
