Mini-Biography

Ironically, I was born on the same day (August 13th) as my grandfather, who was a lifelong naturalist and farmer. I truly think I have his love for nature within me. Since childhood, I have always had a deep passion for the nonhuman world that has never abandoned me.

Currently, I am a member of the Atlantic Highlands Environmental Commission, Co-Chair of the Bayshore Regional Watershed Council, Steward of Lenape Woods Nature Preserve, a Friend of Many Mind Creek, and, oh yes, a professional Environmental Educator. I also have a Masters of Science degree from Bard College where I completed a thesis on local Native American subsistence activities prior to European settlement.

I consider myself a preservationist and wish to help educate people about New Jersey’s physical environment, ecology, and environmental history.
