October 16th Fundraiser Promises Southwestern Fun, Texas-Style BBQ and Country Music to Raise Safety Awareness
Little Silver, N.J.– Grab your cowboy boots and saddle up to support Monmouth County's own CHASE for Life organization, founded by Little Silver, NJ mother of three Farley Boyle, to lower accidental drowning and choking deaths in children. Boyle created this non-profit in 2005 after the heroic lifesaving effort of her then two-year-old daughter, Chase, due to a near-drowning incident. The event will be held at the private residence of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Swain, 172 Rumson Road, Rumson, NJ, from 7:00 – 11:00 pm.
The “CHASE for Life Hoedown” will rustle-up a Texas-style BBQ, featuring a Steamship round and Lone Star pig roast, a mechanical bull prize competition, vintage photography, a VIP whiskey lounge, and the legalized games of chance, including Blackjack, Money Wheels and Craps. To set the stage for an All-American, fun-filled Hoedown-SHOWdown, "After the Reign", N.J.’s leading country music nightclub stage act, is performing southern rock and contemporary country favorites all night long. Plus, enjoy a special performance by Jersey’s own Nashville recording artist Corey Wagar. Plus, Chase for Life supporters will be able to take a chance on a fabulous dude ranch vacation at the Tanque Verde Ranch in AZ, which was voted “a top 10 family destination” by the Travel Channel and “a top five ranch” by Conde Nast.
CHASE for Life (CFL) stands for CPR, Health Awareness & Safety Education. This grassroots-charity's mission is to reach and empower the majority of Americans who are NOT educated in basic lifesaving skills by providing free, hip and friendly resources that teach the basic lifesaving skills needed to sustain a life in an emergency until expert help can take over. The CHASE for Life resources include an 18-minute instructional animated video entitled “How to Safe a Life” and corresponding pocket guides. Currently these are being piloted in 14 area hospitals with the goal of being viewed by all mothers nationwide prior to being discharged with newborns. These resources are designed to be a stepping stone for those who have not yet become certified, as well as a refresher for people who have already been certified in CPR.
Proceeds from the event will enable CHASE for Life to continue distributing its resources free of cost.
The benefit is sponsored by Meridian Health, The Sawtooth Group, Sandy Alexander, Inc. and Kick Dance Studio.
