RED BANK, NJ - “Job Search Skills for the Age 40+ Worker” on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. will be the first program in a free three-part career planning series at the Red Bank Public Library conducted by Nancy Anderson of Blackbird Learning Associates, Bound Brook. The series will continue on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, with “Career Assessment and Resume Preparation” and on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, with “Interviewing for Success.”
Nancy Anderson has over 25 years of human resources and organizational development and training experience in the pharmaceutical, finance, and insurance industries. Author of the recently published book Job Search for Moms, she is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic speaker who will inform and inspire the participants in the classes and arm them with valuable career resources. Artists seeking inspiration, motivation, and a special time to devote to their work are invited to attend an informal gathering once a month at the Red Bank Public Library. The “Artists’ Workshop” takes place the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the library Community Room. The next meeting will be Thursday, August 5. The workshops are free and no registration is required. Participants should bring their own drawing and painting materials, although oils are not permitted because of ventilation concerns.
Also of interest to artists will be a series of four Thursday evening art classes, “Drawing and Painting with Rocco Scibetta,” which will take place September 9 through September 30, 2010. If you would like to practice speaking English, come join the Conversational English classes for adults lead by Literacy Volunteers of Monmouth County tutors this summer at the Red Bank Public Library on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. from June 24 through August 12. Participants will learn English to help them at home, at work, and in the community while meeting and practicing speaking English with others who are also learning English. These stress-free and fun classes are suitable for both beginning and intermediate speakers of English. The classes are free and no registration is required. The Red Bank Senior Center in cooperation with the Red Bank Public Library hosts a book discussion group on the last Monday of each month at the Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. Red Bank Borough residents age 60 and over are welcome to join the Center and participate in this or any of its other great programs.
