ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - A spectacular event is taking place on Saturday, June 5, 2010 in Atlantic Highlands—the 2nd annual Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce Car Show! This show will be bigger and longer than last year’s, running from 11:00am to 5:00pm along First Avenue. Registration begins at 8:30am. Rain date: June 6. This fun community-spirited event is open to the public of all ages and is free to spectators.
With the Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce as its host, this show will feature beautiful vehicles from various years, makes and models, $500.00 in vehicle cash prizes, goodie bags for car entrants, gift certificate prizes, games and balloons for children, face painting, appearance by Buster—the Lakewood Blue Claws’ mascot, musical entertainment at numerous locations along First Avenue for all ages, automotive vendors in Veterans’ Park as well as Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce vendors. Something for everyone!
Vehicle pre-registration can be made by printing and mailing the car show flyer with registration coupon from www.AtlanticHighlands.org or the Atlantic Highlands Chamber Facebook page. Registration forms can be found at various businesses in Atlantic Highlands or email Susan Fairgrieve, car show coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org. Mail your signed pre-registration form and check payment made payable to Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce to Atlantic Highlands Car Show, P.O. Box 222, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716. $15.00 pre-registration and $20.00 day of event entry. First come, first served. Pre-registration is strongly suggested due to last year’s overwhelming response!
We are proud to announce the many local musicians who have volunteered their time and talents to this show: Bands: “Los Pocos Locos”, “That Band” and “Ronnie Rude”; Musical Duo “Sherilyn & Frankie M.”; Acoustic performance by “Jenny Woods” and “Jeff & Elaine”, Caribbean-infused pop with steel drum sounds of “DNA”, the Patty Tracy Duo, singer/songwriter Joe Miller and special dance performances by MTM Dance Factory...just to name a few!
At 12 noon, in Veterans’ Park, there will be a ceremony with Atlantic Highlands Mayor Fred Rast and the local Color Guard to honor Sergeant Ronald A. Kubik, age 21, killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan on April 13, 2010. (Son of locals: Ronald (father) & Rose Kubik (stepmother)) “God Bless America” by Sherilyn of “Sherilyn & Frankie M.”
