ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Atlantic Highlands Police Chief Jerry Vasto reports the following activity:
On November 1, 2018 a Bay Avenue resident reported his unlocked vehicle had been entered and a brown bag containing an older tablet type computer was taken. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked when left unattended.
On November 3, 2018 at 8:48 P.M., Patrolman Travis Sodon checked a suspicious vehicle which was parked on East Avenue. As a result of the inquiry, Theresa Martinez, age 35, Oakhurst, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court. Martinez was turned over to the Keansburg Police Department.
On November 4, 2018 at 1:45 A.M., Patrolman Travis Sodon stopped Janine Gross, Middletown, for a motor vehicle violation. As a result of the stop, Gross was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Take Breath Tests, Reckless Driving, and Obstructed View. Gross was processed and released with a court date.
On November 6, 2018 at 9:42 A.M., Patrolman Christopher Inglis responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway # 36 and First Avenue. A driver involved in the crash, Philip Defonte, age 43, Morganville, was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. Defonte was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes along with several motor vehicle violations. Defonte was processed and released with a court date.
